Tropic Thunder review..short

I am really not feeling writing another full comedy review right now, so I will keep this short. The plot is simple, Tropic Thunder is about a group of actors staring in a movie titled Tropic Thunder, they end up being sent into a real battle field by their director without knowledge of the situation. Craziness follows. Tropic Thunder was a solid comedy, every actor does a good job of keeping things fresh especially Robert Downey Jr. I found that every actor kind of played off the weakness's of the other actors which really ended up working well especially for Jack Black who is really only funny in small doses. The pacing of the movie was good too, I just found that the last quarter of the movie wasn't as funny as the beginning. Even with that said, If you like silly comedies and can stomach Ben Stiller than you will definitely find something here. To be honest I was impressed with the fact Ben Stiller co-wrote, directed and acted in it. I didn't think he would be a very good director, and he proved me wrong. Tom Cruise makes a few cameos in the film and that is all I will say, I was heavily entertained. All things considered, if you have watched the trailer than you probably have a good idea on the plot and type of movie it will be, not many twists in this one. I have read on a few sites and found people are complaining over a scene where they talk about the mentally challenged and refer to them as retards. The scene does seem offensive but it is meant to show the ignorance of people concerning the mentally challenged, I definitely didn't get the impression they were serious or hateful in any way. The movie is just offensive in general, and that's what makes it funny and fresh.

I am going to give this an 8 out of 10. Worth the ticket price in my opinion. It may be forgotten in a few years but it's defiantly funny compared to most other recent comedies.
