Sketchy new Facebook Terms of Service.

I dunno if any of you noticed but there was a change to the Terms of Service that you must accept to use Facebook. This new change gives Facebook the permission to use your pictures and some material for whatever they want. The old Terms of Service stated that when you disabled your account Facebook lost permission to use your pics. Now that part is gone, so long story short. Even if you disable your Facebook account the company can use, alter, sell your pictures however and whenever they want. here's a cut from the T.O.S

"You hereby grant Facebook an irrevocable, perpetual, non-exclusive, transferable, fully paid, worldwide license (with the right to sublicense) to (a) use, copy, publish, stream, store, retain, publicly perform or display, transmit, scan, reformat, modify, edit, frame, translate, excerpt, adapt, create derivative works and distribute (through multiple tiers), any User Content you (i) Post on or in connection with the Facebook Service or the promotion thereof subject only to your privacy settings or (ii) enable a user to Post, including by offering a Share Link on your website and (b) to use your name, likeness and image for any purpose, including commercial or advertising, each of (a) and (b) on or in connection with the Facebook Service or the promotion thereof."

Word of advice- Don't post Logo's or Professional pics if they haven't been copyrighted. Facebook could snatch em on yah. And than proceed to fuck you with them.

There is a group you can join to express your anger...Usually I am against joining Facebook groups, especially ones that are about Facebook. But shit, i already accepted the terms of service like an idiot before actually reading it. Now i want that shit changed.

here's the biggest group against it right now-

****UPDATE- Looks like they have gone back to the old Terms of Service for the time being.

here's the new note
" Over the past few days, we have received a lot of feedback about the new terms we posted two weeks ago. Because of this response, we have decided to return to our previous Terms of Use while we resolve the issues that people have raised. For more information, visit the Facebook Blog.If you want to share your thoughts on what should be in the new terms, check out our group Facebook Bill of Rights and Responsibilities. "

weird how they say they are going back to the old ways while they resolve it. Whats to resolve?..just fuck off with the new Terms of Service.

well you have to realize that facebook is owned by the cia and whatever information they can get on ppl without them knowing is better for them cause then they dont have to work as hard to blakcmail ppl and to know certain ionformation on ppl as well its basically just their way of letting us know they have control over us
