New TMNT for 2011

If you are from my generation than you definitely remember Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, you probably also remember a few live-action movies that were released shortly after the cartoon. These movies were darker and more true to the comic-book roots than the cartoon was, that is supposedly what this new movie is going to be all about, the roots. The original comics were done by Peter Laird and Kevin Eastman and this movie is said to be based around them, good news for us older TMNT fans. This will be the fourth TMNT live-action movie, I haven't even seen the third but I heard it shouldn't even be considered part of the series. It's sounding like this new flick will be more of a reboot than a sequel, I'm curious to see how they will pull this off, some HUGE potential here.

The story of how the original writers got this series on its feet is an interesting one, here is how TMNT began, courtesy of Wiki - "The Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles originated in an United States of American comic book published by Mirage Studios in 1984 in Northampton, Massachusetts. The concept arose from a humorous drawing sketched out by Kevin Eastman during a casual evening of brainstorming with his friend Peter Laird. Using money from a tax refund together with a loan from Eastman's uncle, the young artists self-published a single issue comic intended to parody four of the most popular comics of the early 1980s: Marvel Comics' Daredevil and New Mutants, Dave Sim's Cerebus and Frank Miller's Ronin."

A dark TMNT movie, I'm sold.....The new flick is being produced by Galen Walker and Scott Mednick.... 2011 Ladies and Gentlemen!
