"Massive media conglomerates are lobbying the government to create shadowy legislation: an Internet lock-down, where Internet users are cut off for no good reason, where vast swaths of the Internet are removed or hidden from view, and where users are locked out of their own services.

A similar scheme in the US led to a huge public outcry forcing Big Media lobbyists to back off from their plan to impose the now-infamous SOPA and PIPA1 legislation.Now, those lobbyists are turning to Canada through legislation like Bill C-11 and trade agreements called ACTA2 and TPP3.

Internet law expert Michael Geist recently revealed that behind-the-scenes, Big Media is pushing for powers that include website blocking4, Internet termination for people that threaten their business interests5, and huge threats for sites that host user-generated content (like YouTube)6 in addition to the digital locks7 already in the Bill."

There is a dangerous bill beging purposed in Canada that in a lot of ways, is actually worst than SOPA.

"Potential criminals? With severe fines? for the following actions that many of the current generation of computer literate consumers do:

- Copying a song off a CD that you have purchased to your iPod or cell phone to listen to on your commute to work?

- Copying a movie off a DVD or Blu-Ray that you have purchased to your cellphone or tablet to watch while waiting in line at the cash register?

- Copying a CD, DVD or Blu-Ray disc that you have purchased in order to prevent your young children from scratching the original disc? (something I'm sure that has happen to many a parent including this one)"

We have to let our government and officials know that our freedom is important to us and we will not stand by as our rights get stripped away!

SOPA threatens our voices and our freedom

SOPA is a name that is gaining steam and creating a lot of anger across the globe, it's basically the blueprint for a literal dictatorship of the internet. SOPA would give control over the american people in terms of what they are "allowed" to view, this is a direct stab at both freedom and basic human rights. It also means that they can shut down or "block" a site without any evidence, very reminiscent of the internet situation in China. Sorry for the mega lack of updates, myself and Retroid have been busy getting our plans together for 2012 as well as producing some original tunes. We are going to have some big announcements to make soon regarding TheJuice902 and our recently launched Bass Bias.

Also, this Friday night we launch our Bass Bias Ustream, expect a late night of mids, highs, lows and all things bass. Dark Mattr and Doc Brown will be joining us as well as some special guests, we will post the link sometime tomorrow, the show should be starting around 10:00pm Atlantic time.

P0gman - Its evolved just like any other scene. You get pioneers, people who take new directions, copycats. All of this is involved in almost every genre. I respect anyone who is making music in any way shape or form. I think Dubstep itself has evolved ALOT. In some ways for the better and in some ways for the worse. I think too many people think just cause a track is at 140bpm it is classed as 'dubstep'. To me a lot of it is just Bass Heavy music. Either way if its good its good :)

TheJuice902 - How long have you been Producing? Any advice to Aspiring beat makers out there ?

P0gman - I've been producing about 2 n half years now. And for the producers out there just make what you wanna make. Dont think just cause someone gets 5 million plays and 5 million followers that you HAVE to make that sort of music. Make whatever music you feel like making, and keep at it . Starting producing can be a bitch cause you wont find your 'sound' straight away. Just keep going and keep exploring

TheJuice902 - What group or artist is your biggest musical influence (Dubstep Genre)

P0gman - I always loved the HENCH sound. This drippy, wet, wobbly sound you hear from me came from my love for HENCH. I take ALOT of influence from outside of Dubstep though. I listen to a massively wide range of music

P0gman - I mix CD. I would love to mix vinyl but its an expensive game and not everything that i spin is available on vinyl. There is Serato and things like that but i just stick to CD as its the thing i got to grips with first

It was finally captured on Saturday by a team of about 30 men who used meat to bait it and an eight millimeter metal cable to snare it, according to an Agence-France Presse report on ABS.CBN News.

Edwin Cox Elorde, mayor of the remote town of Bunawan near where the croc was caught, said the reptile will become the star of a nature park there, according to the AFP report.

The previous largest crocodile in captivity is an 18-footer in Australia, according to Guinness World Records."

HBO has come out with a new documentary that follows the lives of real life Superheroes or as some call them masked-vigilantes. I'm pretty siked to see how this turned out and which approach the film makers took, I'm also curious to see if any of these "heroes" have actually helped anyone out.

"Fifteen months after BP’s crippled Macondo Well in the Gulf of Mexico caused the worst environmental disaster in US history, oil and oil sheen covering several square miles of water are surfacing not far from BP’s well. According to oil trackers with the organization On Wings of Care who have been monitoring the oil since early August, rainbow-tinted slicks and thicker globs of oil have been visible. On August 18 reports surfaced that a large swath of oil sheen was reported near the site of last year's oil disaster. BP officials, in coordination with the US Coast Guard, deployed two submersibles to investigate the site. BP’s Gulf of Mexico disaster is, to date, the largest accidental marine oil spill in the history of the petroleum industry.
BP has used at least 1.9 million gallons of toxic dispersants to sink the oil, in an effort the oil giant claimed was aimed at keeping the oil from reaching shore. The dispersants are banned in at least 19 countries, including the UK."

When BP was questioned they gave this statement

"We can tell you that we recently sent a remote operated submarine down to inspect the Macondo well cap and the relief well cap," Tom Mueller, a press officer for BP America has said, "Both are intact and show no evidence of any oil leak. So no oil is leaking from the Macondo well."

The way I look at it, even if this leak isn't directly from the Macondo well cap it is directly linked to BP's drilling and exploration in the area. BP has been avoiding clean up costs and outright blame since the beginning, this company is poisoning our oceans and actually profiting from doing so.

Sorry for the lack of posts....after almost 3 months of back-packing in Nicaragua I am finding the daily routine incredibly difficult to get back into. With that being said I am currently in the process of uploading photo's and video's of the trip onto a Flickr account, I also plan to do a little write-up on my travels due to the fact that Nicaragua is still relatively unknown to a lot of people.

" Ireland has been making eco-headlines of late for taking the unusual step of banning the cultivation of genetically modified crops. The Green Isle now joins a growing number of countries that have opted to ban the growing of GM crops including Japan, Egypt and Germany.

GM Free Ireland reports that the Irish Government will now ban the cultivation of all GM crops and introduce a voluntary GM-free label for food – including meat, poultry, eggs, fish, crustaceans, and dairy produce made without the use of GM animal feed.

The policy was adopted as part of the Renewed Programme for Government agreed between the two coalition partners, the centre-right Fianna Faíl and the Green Party, after the latter voted to support it last week. The agreement specifies that the Government will "Declare the Republic of Ireland a GM-Free Zone, free from the cultivation of all GM plants".

Friends of the Earth Europe's GMO campaign coordinator Helen Holder said "All around Europe, countries are putting up bans or other limits to growing genetically modified crops and the Irish government is to be congratulated. Divine Elements

Originally spawned from a small studio in Los Angeles, California, Divine Elements began with a vision of a collective that would eventually provide audiences with an experience that is often hard to find in the electronica music scene. An experience that would change what party goers alike expect from performers at clubs and electronic music events around the globe. That vision was a live PA which would rival the best of both the audio and visual worlds. A collective of enthusiasts performing on stage with synthesizers, guitar, drums, vocals and integrated video stimulation.

Once inspired by such artists as Roni Size and Reprezent, Thievery Corporation, Daft Punk, Crystal Method, BT and Prodigy, Divine Elements set out on a mission to represent Drum and Bass and all other genres they encompass in a whole new light. Group founders Concise and Ru started the collective with the idea that they would introduce new "elements" as time went on; finding the right artists to join them on their mission of "giving the audience what they deserve out of an electronic performance." As time went on, they found just that.

Doppler, a well rounded producer out North Carolina, proved to be a proper fit in the group as he shared very common production tastes. His love for all styles of electronica was right in line with what Divine Elements was all about, “Variety.” Before Joining the group, he had an array of releases, some of which were topping the download charts on sites like Beatport.com. Other additions include the likes of Kris Jung; a beat-boxer/Guitarist from Los Angeles and close friend who has guested at many performances in the past. His tongue twisting rhythms and distorted guitar sounds add a unique twist to an already unique live sound. The group has been known to perform live hip hop/drum and bass remixes of classics like Black Sabbath's "Crazy Train" with Kris, leaving the crowd begging for more. Also, fellow producer Brian Beckion, otherwise known as "Psionic" from Los Angeles, adds his own element of heavy metal lead guitar and rhythm. Psionic's screaming melodies have become somewhat of a signature “element” in DE’s music. Drummer Dave Farina was added as an "Element" in mid 2010. His relentless percussion has earned him the rights into being the backing force behind the teeming snares and pounding bass kicks of Divine Elements' live performance. Fellow producer and DJ from the Los Angeles area, Southpaw joined the collective as their live scratch DJ and adds the classic West Coast Hip Hop vibe, which is a benchmark of DE's unique sound. Southpaw is featured on a variety of DE tracks including the remix of their neuro-tech banger "Lobotomy," from their first album "Defining Moment." The most recent addition to the collective was MC Dino (DKnow), Adding the vocal fire and front man that was necessary to make the act come full circle and round off the lineup. MC Dino had previously gained stature as a solo artist through both his Urban Aborigine project and as a top MC in the American Drum and Bass scene. He has also produced tracks for some of America’s most prestigious talent in both the underground and mainstream music scenes.

As a collective, Divine Elements has gained recognition throughout the years, allowing them to perform at some of America’s top events. Having graced the lineups of such gatherings as History and Legendz, D.E. has shared the bill with the likes of such acclaimed artists as Prodigy, Pendulum, Nicky Blackmarket, Hive, Gridlok, Invaderz, Future Prophecies, Evol Intent, Dieselboy and many more. in 2006 they launched a stateside tour called “The Element Of Surprise” for their freshman album “Defining Moment,” which featured live performances all over America. In 2009, the group released their second album "The Greater Unknown" which had heads turning with a more mature sound. The album was a featured release on such well known websites as Drum and Bass Arena, Beatport, itunes and many more, To this day they continue to rise in the charts as America’s up and coming electronic music artists.

Truth = Capital Punishment

Bradley Manning is the young man behind one of the biggest and most eye opening releases of U.S Army intel the world has ever seen. For those who don't know he was the one who leaked the "Collateral Murder" video which showed U.S troops in Afghanistan firing on innocent civilians. Bradley's quest for spreading the truth ended up getting him serious jail time, he is currently being held at the Marine Corps Base in Quantico. He is confined to a tiny cell, 23 hour lock down, he is not allowed to exercise, he is not allowed to speak to the guards, if he sleeps the guards are ordered to wake him, he is being denied even the most basic of human activities, he is literally living in hell.
As if his treatment wasn't bad enough now there is talk of possible capital punishment, as of March 1st he has been given an additional 22 charges. This can't be allowed, now is the time to spread the message, we will not stand for this kind of tyranny. The families of those civilians deserved to see the truth, and for helping them, Bradley now faces a very real chance of execution by the same people he was trying to expose.

Fraud and Related Activity in Connection with Computers in violation of 18 U.S.C. 1030(a)(1) (Two Specifications)
Five Specifications in violation of Article 92, UCMJ, for violating Army Regulations 25-2 “Information Assurance” and 380-5 “Department of the Army Information Security Program.”

The charge of aiding the enemy under Article 104 is a capital offense; however, the prosecution team for the United States has notified the defense that the prosecution will not recommend the death penalty to the Convening Authority, Maj. Gen. Karl R. Horst, commanding general, U.S. Army Military District of Washington. Under the UCMJ, the Convening Authority ultimately decides what charges to refer to court-martial, and whether to seek the death penalty if Article 104 is referred. Therefore, if convicted of all charges, Manning would face a maximum punishment of reduction to the lowest enlisted pay grade, E-1; total forfeiture of all pay and allowances; confinement for life; and a dishonorable discharge.

This is an experimental project I did earlier in the year to see whether it was possible to turn a BMX into a dubstep track. Besides the vocals all sounds used were of recordings from the BMX in a studio. I then with a small team directed the music video which stars Josh Briars on his BMX. So the question is, can a BMX be an instrument... please discuss.

Tigers, they are on our cereal boxes, in our stories, our movies, our nursery rhymes & our books...Yet everyday we are driving them to the brink of extinction....The wild lands of Asia in the early 1900's was home to more than 100,000 tigers, now it contains barely 3000. If this trend continues tigers could actually be gone in the next 12 years, right in time for the next Chinese "Year of the Tiger". The World Wildlife Foundation has a goal to double the number of tigers in the next few years by offering safe, poacher free zones.

I got an interesting email today regarding President Bush that I felt I needed to share, finally some positive action against Bush and his countless (unaccounted for) war-crimes.

" George W. Bush has his back to the wall. He just cancelled a speech in Switzerland due to fear of mass protests and his arrest for authorizing the torture of detainees at Guantánamo Bay.

Bush is afraid of another Pinochet incident. In 1998, late Chilean dictator Augusto Pinochet was arrested in London on a warrant from Spain for multiple crimes committed during his brutal, bloody reign.

Human rights activists all over the world have pledged to seek arrest warrants wherever Bush travels outside the United States. Already, legal proceedings in Spain and Germany target Bush and his henchmen for their crimes. Bush cannot hide, just like Pinochet couldn’t.

We owe the people of Switzerland, Spain and Germany a debt of gratitude for their steadfastness and continued activity to bring Bush to justice. We can do no less.

This is truly a global movement for accountability and justice. The American people have a special responsibility to continue to expose Bush and keep the pressure on.

Bush and Cheney were hoping that the outrage against them would die, but it never will.

I recently came across some incredibly disturbing news regarding the possible future of Wolves, it concerns 2 bills that Montana Representative Denny Rehberg introduced. If this bills are passed it gives the right for anyone to kill and hunt any wolf they come across, considering how greatly we have already lowered the numbers of wolves this could be a death blow for the entire species. Now is the time to stand up for these noble and beautiful animals before it's too late...more info below

" In what wildlife conservationists are calling a dangerously unprecedented move, Montana Representative Denny Rehberg introduced two separate bills aimed at removing wolves from the endangered species list. This would enable the wolves to be hunted at will across the country -- and biologists say that it could "set the stage for nationwide wolf eradication."

The Defenders of Wildlife noted that "Together, these bills would allow states to eliminate all wolves in the Northern Rockies, Great Lakes and Southwest, including the 42 Mexican wolves struggling for survival in New Mexico and Arizona." As you're likely aware, there are plenty of farmers, ranchers, and landowners across the Midwest who -- for good reason -- wouldn't hesitate to hunt down or kill the remaining wolves that threaten their livestock and livelihoods. But we're talking about the possible eradication of a species here -- surely these bills are dangerous in their overreach.

Speaking of dangerous prospects, if passed, these bills would indeed set a frightening precedent. It would mark the first time a single species was exempted from the Endangered Species Act -- perhaps paving the way for other severely threatened species to be pulled from the endangered species list as well. And that's a slippery slope nobody wants to inch towards.

Rodger Schlickeisen, the president of Defenders of Wildlife, released a statement that included the following: "These bills set a terrible precedent that will open the flood gates to legislation to strip protections for any other species that a politician finds inconvenient to protect. Grizzly bears, salmon, whales, polar bears and Florida panthers are just a few that could be at serious risk. If enacted, this legislation would constitute one of the worst assaults on the [Endangered Species Act] since it became law in 1973. If we allow Congress to overrule the courts and usurp the authority of professional wildlife managers and expert biologists, there's no telling where it will stop."

Wolves are already struggling for survival across the Midwest, and are, in the opinion of many conservationists, being perilously over-hunted. This bill could be the nail in their coffin. "

Bacteria could soon replace hard drives as the leading technology for data storage in everything from Ipod's to computers and movies....yeah you read that right, info below.

"Researchers have figured out that data can be stored in bacteria, and that a single gram of bacteria can store more information than a giant 900 terabyte hard drive! This storing and encrypting information in living organisms is called biostorage, and students at Hong Kong's Chinese University are using E. coli to test the possibilities of how we store information in the future.

"In 2007, a team at Japan's Keio University said they had successfully encoded the equation that represents Einstein's theory of relativity, E=MC², in the DNA of a common soil bacterium. They pointed out that because bacteria constantly reproduce, a group of the single-celled organisms could store a piece of information for thousands of years."
Now, research has progressed, and the Hong Kong researchers have figured out how to compress data, store it in chunks in several organisms, and map the DNA so the information can be easily found again, like a filing system. They're calling it biocryptography.

According to the researchers, this could mean a revolution in how we store text, images, music, and even video. And what's more, the information can't be hacked:
"All kinds of computers are vulnerable to electrical failures or data theft. But bacteria are immune from cyber attacks. You can safeguard the information," Professor Chan Ting Fung told AFP."

He is being held in "maximum custody" at the Marine Corps Brig, Quantico, Virginia. He is expected to face a court-martial in the spring of 2011.

Manning was assigned to a support battalion with the 2nd Brigade Combat Team, 10th Mountain Division, based at Contingency Operating Station Hammer, Iraq, which gave him access to SIPRNet—the Secret Internet Protocol Router Network—used by the U.S. Department of Defense and Department of State to transmit classified information. He was arrested in May 2010 after Adrian Lamo, a former computer hacker, reported to authorities that Manning had told him, during an online chat, that he had downloaded material from SIPRNet and passed it to Wikileaks. The material included the video of a July 2007 helicopter airstrike in Baghdad (the so-called "Collateral Murder" video, which Wikileaks published in April 2010), a video of the Granai airstrike in Afghanistan, and a large number of diplomatic cables.

On July 5, 2010 Manning was charged under the Uniform Code of Military Justice for transferring classified data onto his personal computer and communicating national defense information to an unauthorized source between November 19, 2009 and May 27, 2010.

The infamous red super-giant star in Orion’s nebula - Betelgeuse - is predicted to go gangbusters and the impending super-nova may reach Earth before 2012, and when it does, all of our wildest Star Wars dreams will come true.

When this happens a giant explosion will occur, tens of millions of times brighter than the sun.
The bad news is, it could also happen in a million years. But who's counting?
The important thing is, one day, night will become day for several weeks on Earth.

The interwebs is being flooded with doomsday theories saying the impending supernova confirms the Mayan calendar’s prediction of the Armageddon in 2012.
These conspiracies aren’t helped by the word “Betelgeuse” being associated with the devil.

Far from being a sign of the apocalypse, according to Dr Carter the supernova will provide Earth with elements necessary for survival and continuity.

“When a star goes bang, the first we will observe of it is a rain of tiny particles called neutrinos,” says Dr Carter.

“They will flood through the Earth and bizarrely enough, even though the supernova we see visually will light up the night sky, 99 per cent of the energy in the supernova is released in these particles that will come through our bodies and through the Earth with absolutely no harm whatsoever.”

Some experts have speculated Betelgeuse’s explosion may cause a neutron star or result in the formation of a black hole approximately 1300 light years from Earth, but Dr Carter says it could go either way.

“There’s a reasonably even chance of a neutron star or a black hole”, he says.

“If it were me, I’d suspect it would more likely become a black hole at 20 solar masses.”)

2011 Magnetic North Pole Shift

2011 seems to have started off with a rather startling omen, worldwide mass wildlife deaths have started since December 31st. A possible cause, The Magnetic North pole is on the run, shifting and moving fast .
   With tons of speculation over the bird and fish deaths worldwide it has sparked all kinds of debates from all sides of the spectrum. Experts claiming that it was caused by all the new years fireworks, scaring birds out of their nests who lost control hitting houses and dive bombing into the ground. Only that doesn't explain why the deaths have continued over the past week worldwide, in places far from urban centres. And if the fireworks theory were true, why is this the first time were hearing of it ? One would expect this sort of thing to happen every new year if fireworks were the culprit.
   Other theories include covert government operations such as the HAARP facilities, one mass bird death case is said to have happened near one said facility. Also Environmental Degradation and Leaked chemicals are being pointed to as possible sources. Sure in some cases one or more of these theories may be true. But when the locations are worldwide seemingly disconnected yet all have the same deadly results, a bigger picture starts to form. We all know that birds use the magnetic north pole for navigation, to navigate south in the winter and even simple navigation for hunting and finding their nest. Airplanes use the same base Principal to navigate worldwide and to find landing strips.
   All a disconnected co-incidence as the main stream would have you believe? Or is it all coming from a common source, effecting all aspects of aviation, wildlife and aircraft alike? You be the Judge...
